“Week 3 – 15th-21st Sept

This last week has been a busy one. A bit out of the ordinary 🙂  We had a shopping trip to Geelong, I tried a couple of new recipes, I had work, the boys caught up during the week, and our weather has been pretty awful!! And in-between all that I managed a bit of down time 🙂

???????????????????????????????I thought I would do a layout on the left side for a challenge at Towoomba Scrap Apples and it was fun 🙂 I used some more photos from our week to make the pocket page. I printed some of our shopping photos together in a collage on a 4×6 sheet of photo paper.  So on this double page I managed to get 22 photos scraped. How are you going with your PL?

Happy Scrapping 🙂

“My Rose Therapy!”

My Roses are certainly my ‘other’ therapy. I couldn’t imagine my garden with out them. Growing up with mum having roses in her garden all my life, I got the bug too 🙂

I had a ‘few’ photos of my Rose garden, that were just sitting around and I wanted to get them scraped. I played around with them and came up with this in some 4×6 vertical pocket pages 🙂 It was a lot easier than stressing over a double page traditional layout 🙂

???????????????????????????????I created this double pocket page, mainly using things from my stash. I had a Basic Grey Plumeria 6×6 pad and the colours matched quite well with the theme. I just added a few embellies and some journaling and all done 🙂

I took the photo our of the pockets as the glare really annoys me trying to get a good pic 🙂 Hope you get some ideas 🙂

“Simplify” -“Doing PL My Way!”

I have still been following my ‘One little Word’ this year even though I haven’t had a lot of time to document it.  I don’t think I had in mind studying when I started it 🙂 Part of this journey was for me to Simplify my scrap booking process, and I think I am slowly getting there with this system 🙂

I was not sure how to start my PL journey, but as I have been playing I have realized it doesn’t matter if I don’t scrap in order. I don’t think I ever have anyway. If I have photos from other years I will just put them together in another album 🙂

It is important to scrap our ‘Fur Family’ as they are a big part of our lives. These photos of Sam and Trishka were taken earlier in the year, but I have put a few different ones together to make these pages. I did this with the pup ones too 🙂

???????????????????????????????Trishka has been with us 9 months now, and it was nice to get some photos of her in an album 🙂 She has come along way after losing her leg and she is now very at home with us.

???????????????????????????????Sam is now 9 years old and we have had lots of stories to tell about him. I have been doing a few layouts of him, but to get all these photos on one page is a bonus 🙂

It is great to focus on the photos and the stories, but I still like to have a play so I might create a layout this week 🙂

“Using Smaller Photos!”

I have always, mainly been a 4×6 photo scrapper, but now having the option of printing smaller photos, and my punch that I can crop photos, I am having fun with my PL and scraping a lot of older photos that have been in boxes alot quicker 🙂

???????????????????????????????I used my Kraft core kit for these couple of layouts of our pups, Willo and Nitro who are now 4 years old.  I had a few of different 4×6 photos of things they have done, like their bath time and things they do, and I decided to put them together instead of separate layouts which would take heaps of time.

???????????????????????????????The colours in this kit are very neutral and will go with lots of photos 🙂 I love that I can crop the photos quickly, add them to the pocket, and journal very quickly. I am really enjoying this style of scrapping 🙂

These photos are from earlier in the year, and I will add them to the album also. I don’t scrap photos in order as I can’t keep up but this way I feel like I am making a dent 🙂 I feel like I am focusing more on the photos and what the story is about!

“A Little Tutorial – WRMK Photo/Card Punch!”

I haven’t done a tutorial for anything lately and as I have a new toy I thought I would share how it works with you 🙂

This is my We Are Memory Keepers (WRMK) 3×4 photo punch that I bought from http://www.kerryscraftycardsandcuts.com.au/store/ It punches pp, card stock and photos in a great size to make my PL scraping even quicker 🙂

I thought some of you might like to see how it works 🙂

???????????????????????????????                This is how it comes. The front lever releases it to use. It will pop up!

???????????????????????????????                       You can see the top and bottom components of it here 🙂 You just take the top off 🙂

???????????????????????????????                                 You place your paper or photo on the top

???????????????????????????????                   Then place the top piece on and it will connect together. You can see through the window how your pic will look as the it the size it cuts 🙂

???????????????????????????????To cut you press down with your hands with good pressure and you will hear it cut. I use both hands over it and it works great and isn’t hard to push down 🙂

???????????????????????????????You then just take the top piece off, or you can open the little window to take out what you have cropped. I find it easier to take it apart.

???????????????????????????????This is the punched piece of now 3×4 pp and this punch has rounded corners. You can get one without if that is your preference.

???????????????????????????????I cut a couple of photos too and it cut them easy. As you can see you can line up you photo before you cut it 🙂

???????????????????????????????As you can see the punch does a great job and I am so happy with it. Besides my Sizzix Big Shot, this would be one of the best tools I have bought and it will b used to death.

Here is a You Tube Video Tutorial link also if you are interested http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZRCWDkzfTI

I hope my little tutorial might be helpful to some of you out there. Let me know if you have one and how you use it!

“Week 2 – 8/14 Sept”

I think I am getting the hang of this ‘pocket’ scrap booking 🙂 I am thinking about each pocket as a mini layout and that way it not so overwhelming! A lovely lady told me to approach it like that 🙂 I am using bits and bobs from my stash and the lovely buttons you see are from Studio40. The lovely Sandra Allan designs them. They are nice and flat to use on my PL pages 🙂008                           These are just a few of our every days 🙂 Nothing too exciting this week but still memories of us 🙂

I used a bit of twine, and a few embellies and stamps to tie it all together 🙂

“Plodding Along!”

I think I am a bit of a ‘plodder’ sometimes. When I am not in a hurry, but I like to keep things moving along. Today was a busy day as I had to take homework into my trainer, then ended up going back to sit in on a talk from a person that works in Communication Aids for the disabled. It was really interesting and I learnt a lot! That then bit into my day and it wasn’t going quite to plan 🙂 I came home and couldn’t face any homework so I sat and ‘plodded’ along on my weekly title cards for my PL album 🙂 This was fun and I manged to do a roast dinner in between 🙂

???????????????????????????????I am really pleased I did the 52 weeks in one sitting and I wont have to get out my supplies and do more later on. I used the Kraft card stock, washi taped top and bottom, punched the week and will do the month as I get to them. I add the numbers with foam stamps and some distress paint 🙂 These were fun and easy to do and will be great if I get a little behind.

I hope tomorrow I will get Week 2 photos done in between homework as I am now doing the 7-3 Wednesday at work 🙂 Will see how I go, so stay tuned 🙂

“Pinterest Inspired!”

Have you been over to Pinterest lately. It is an awesome place to pin new ideas onto your own boards 🙂  This is where it is if you don’t know about it or want to check it out 🙂  http://www.pinterest.com/

I found these cards over there today and I have been thinking about what to do for my Weekly Cards 🙂

cardsThey are lovely, and I thought I can do something like this so…………..

I got out my Franchville Punch set that I haven’t used for a while and I had a play until I came up with something I was happy with 🙂

??????????????????????????????? I used some Kraft card stock which I have plenty of, a set of foam alphabet stamps that I hadn’t used, some Tim Holt Distress pain and some washi 🙂 I am definitely using my stash 🙂  I think I will continue making a few months worth of these while I have a bit of time up my sleeve. I am working in the morning and will have to get back into the study on Monday 🙂

“DIY Journal cards!”

I have been looking at all the yummy Project Life Albums on-line and admiring some of the lovely journal cards on pages 🙂 I have decided to get a core kit from  http://www.kerryscraftycardsandcuts.com.au/store/   for when I am time poor. I also felt I could make some too, so have been having a play today, and using my stash of stamps and washi tape. I came up with these!

001I used some pink Kaszazz card-stock for these and I stamped on the smooth side so I can journal on them later 🙂 I had fun with some stamps, washi tape and punches 🙂

002    Of, course I had to do some blue ones, as I am always scrapping boys! lol!

???????????????????????????????          I did these too so I can add them in with my core Kit when I get it. 🙂  I made some in mind of some photos of cards and our holiday 🙂 I think I will be making plenty of these in my journey 🙂

I would love to see some of your ideas too if you have made any 🙂

“Playing With Ideas!”

I am still playing around with ideas for doing this Project and I thought this might be an option, if I have lots of photos from an event to scrap. 🙂 Some of you may remember the post I did in January about this 🙂 These are Football Card Pockets that I used for my One Little Word Project earlier this year! You can use the pockets for journalling or for lots of small photos, or split up a 4×6.  They have given me a few options of what to do and also, I am going to have a play and make some journaling cards tmorrow. Will see what I come up with 🙂 I am determined to use some of that stash of mine 🙂

I have had a lot of fun with OLW this year, and even though I didn’t always do the monthly prompts I have been trying to Simplify things as I go along 🙂 Now my head is spinning with more ideas!!!
