I love trying out different arty techniques and this journal is just the thing for that 🙂 I had a go at the crayon resist on a bigger scale as I have only ever done it on cards 🙂
I used a wax crayon on the background and just drew some free hand flowers, then filled it in with some smaller ones. I then sprayed three Dylusion ink colours over randomly and you will see the crayon ‘resist’ the ink 🙂 I then rolled the paper towel over it and it dried the ink and polished the crayon. I added a few flowers and a quote to finish it off. I am very happy with it and look forward to lots more playing 🙂
Hope this inspires you to have a go at this technique 🙂
Happy Scraping x
I thought I would have a play in my journal and am feeling a little guilty as I should be doing home work; I will get some done tonite at work 🙂
I am not much of an artist, I can’t really draw, but I watched one of Dyan Revelry’s awesome tutorials on You Tube. I thought I would have a go at what she is doing. I haven’t finished it yet!
This is the link to Dyan’s Tutorials if you would like a peek, she is very clever 🙂 Just scroll down a bit and the video is called the Patchwork Background 🙂
I started by just using a Sharpie pen and just doodling circles etc on page, covering it all 🙂
Then I filled up all the shapes with different patterns and a few words:)
Now I have painted each of the shapes using my Dylusions inks and a fine paint brush 🙂 The next part is the stencil step and haven’t decided on what to use 🙂 As you will see in the video, Dyan uses one of her positive stencil images, which I haven’t got so I will use what I have to do this step 🙂
Stay tuned 🙂

One thing has led to another this week! I have had a dam leak in my roof in the bedroom and have had to move things, and my bed out of the ‘drip zone’. This has been a pain but also I have worked out a better designed way to have my scrap/bed room. I was lucky enough to find a scrapbook shop fitting from a shop in Geelong that has closed down and I have been going through my stash and sorting and getting it set up. It is tall but not wide and I am able to see heaps of my stash that was forgotten about and I will use it now.
My lovely big corner desk is going to waste, so I have decided to make my space in my bedroom for scraping and keep my table out in the lounge to do my ‘art journaling’. This way they are separated and I wont have to keep tidying everything up when I want a change 🙂
Everything is a bit of a mess atm but I will get it cleaned up and organised over the next few days in between work and study 🙂
As you can see I have managed to pull a lot of things out of boxes and on the rack 🙂
On this side I put chipboard and stamps.
On this side is my Tim Holtz stuff, lots of embellies and I put all my different paper doilies in a 12×12 storage bag and hung them up 🙂
I put all my Thickers, BG chipboard Alphas etc on this side 🙂
I got all my stencils and masks out, sorted them into their sizes and put them in a 12×12 plastic bags, also so I know what I have and I will use them 🙂 I got out a heap of ribbons and trims and made up a bag of these and also a bag of flowers 🙂 It is amazing the things you forget about 🙂
I have found some extra goodies in my clean up this week so……. thought I would share them with you and make up a couple of “De-Stash RAKS”to Give Away ” on here this week, so stay tuned you might be lucky enough to get one 🙂
I am still working on my Art Journal, but need to get this sorted first 🙂 Then it will be ‘full create ahead” for me “)

I am needing a little change from my scrap booking and a couple of my friends are dabbling with an Art Journaling. This is a book where you can just play and be creative with no constraints or stress 🙂
I started my journal by just getting an A4 visual diary which has a bit thicker pages in it and I just played with some of my stash.
I am totally new to this and just thought, well ‘dive in’ and that is what I did. I used my Dylusions inks to spray the backgrounds and then misted with water and let it drip down the page. I dried it off and then stamped with some Stazon inks with my Kaszazz stamps. I used some texture paste through a mask for some texture and add a few pieces of Washi tapes. I stamped the words with foam stamps and white paint, then went over it free hand 🙂 This was so relaxing ans so much fun to do.
To get ideas on how to start I had a look at Pinterest and at some blogs 🙂 I have also joined a couple of Art Journal groups on FB.

These photos were taken earlier in the year of my aunty and uncles 65th Wedding Anniversary celebrations down at Warrnambool 🙂 Aunty Clarice is one of my mum’s sisters and it was great for mum to have a day of catching up with her family. I also had a great time catching up with some of my cousins I hadn’t seen for a while 🙂
I didn’t use smaller photos or trim the photos down to mat them as I wanted to use the 4×6 size and I just did a bit of embellishing with the smaller photo 🙂
I glittered up the 65 with some emboss powder, heat and stick powder and then some chunky glitter 🙂 I used one of the 4×6 pockets for my journaling and I just used small pieces of paper and wrote their names on them 🙂 Simple but effective and now they are scraped and in my album 🙂
How is your PL scrapping going 🙂
Happy Scrapping x
I have used some ‘other brand’ pocket pages besides our Kaszazz ones and I have been a bit disappointed with the quality of them. My PL pages are not very lumpy, but I have found they tear, even when trying to put photos in them 😦
I decided to give our Kaszazz ones a trial and I am very happy with them. They seem to be re-enforced and I have not had one tear even with a bit of layering 🙂
I used them first on this page. I have the Portrait and Landscape ones and they are great. If you would like to give them a try let me know. 🙂 They are on page 6 of our Catalogue which you can view online here http://www.kaszazz.com/KaszazzProducts/BrowseourCatalogue.aspx
They are on page 6 item # 5038 and # 5039 they come in a pack of 25
If you would like to order them or anything else just let me know 🙂

Well, yeah hadn’t scrapped these, but I meant to before this 🙂 With our children growing up and working, and everything else we usually don’t get together for Xmas on the day 😦 But we do get together as soon after as we can, and we take the kids shopping in January together in Geelong also. Life is busy, but we always have a great day together. As mum and dad are now in Mercy, we decided to take them out and go to the park and have fish and chips. It was a great day and the kids played cricket and kicked a footy around. There was a lot of laughs and celebrating. It is so great to not be stressed with more cooking and planning and just able to relax 🙂 We then go back to Mercy as dad gets pretty tired and we have dessert of all the Xmas favourites 🙂
I used my vertical and horizontal pocket pages from Kaszazz, as I had both sizes of photos. I added some pp, flowers, stamping and a title to make this double. The bottle cap centers came from the lovely Josie Dean from a swap we were both in. Apart from my playing with the embellies, it came together pretty quickly 🙂 I am a traditional red and green colours girl for Xmas 🙂 I am glad I finally got these done and now on to my next photo Project 🙂

This layout isn’t my current PL scrapping but certainly is a story in my life from a while ago 🙂 This layout I created for Chloe’s Oct Blind Scrap over at http://www.scrapbooksavvy.com.au/blog/
This photo of my niece Crystal was taken 19 years ago as she is 21 now! She is still a cutie 🙂
I inked the background with some Dylusions by taking the top of and drawing circles randomly over the page, then misting with water. I then held the card stock up and let it run down the page. I masked a chevron over it, a butterfly with some texture paste and then stamped a few flowers:) I made the butterflies from the same stamp by cutting one of the petals out, this idea I got from the lovely Josie Dean. The flowers are from a RAK I received from Karen Mayer over at http://homeandscrapped.ning.com/ and the blue one I made using the matching punch to the stamps, misting and then scrunching them and adding a brad 🙂
Hop over and have a go at Chloe’s great Blind Scrap 🙂
Happy Scrapping 🙂
This layout was fun to do about my new friend Mary and I. We met through the Age Care course we did together and since finishing it we have stayed in touch. She was overseas for a couple of months seeing her family in England and when she came home we had lunch together and had a great catch up 🙂 Mary works in Age Care at Mercy where mum and dad are 🙂
I used a template to do the background with texture paste and stamped the Butterflies from Kaszazz with Peacock feather distress ink. I got the lovely flowers from Lynn Beaumont-Cadd on FB and I sprayed the bigger ones with Dylusions ink. I mainly buy white flowers so I can colour them myself 🙂 I have inks, stains, paints, markers etc to use and is much cheaper 🙂 I just added some twine and hidden journaling and it didn’t take long at all. This will also go in my PL album 🙂
