“Some Scrap Time”

Happy Wednesday,

I have today off, so I thought I would catch up on my blogging πŸ™‚

Like all of you I struggle to get a good amount of free time during the week to scrap. I have sort of got a system where my desk is always messy with a project I am working on and I can go back to it as I can in between housework, my paid job and everything else. πŸ™‚Β Β  I do clean it up after I have finished a project as that way I start fresh and don’t have too much clutter around me a t a time πŸ™‚ As work split shifts and nights this seems to work for me:)

I have been joining in with a Cyber Crop on Face Book with D-Lish Scraps since the weekend and I have completed 3 of 4 fantastic challenges. πŸ™‚

001This first layout of Jayden was a challenge to use stamping on my page. As you know I am a stamp-a-holic and have heaps to use πŸ˜‰Β  I used the end of aΒ  toilet roll dipped in paint to do the background on the white card stock, then used a few Autumn Leaves stamps to do the circular journal bits. Some misted tags, a few pp layered and the arrows was a piece from a swap that I joined in. I have hidden the journaling behind the photo for him to read as I didn’t feel it needed to be seen by everyone .

014This fun layout of our kitty Trishka. was a challenge to use all one colour in different shades on my page. It is called Monochromatic colours. I stamped the paws on the background with distress ink, added some pp, washi tape, a bit of texture with some netting and a bit of embellishment. I don’t scrap alot of girl stuff so this was an opportunity to do a girly layout.

004I am very sentimental, and I have had this stamp set of my Grandfather’s, William ‘Poppy’ Smith for quite awhile. I treasure it and this challenge was perfect for me to record this part of our Smith family history. My Poppy,Β  dad and his brother used to work together on a fishing trawler and this was something I dint know for quite awhile, till mum was ready to talk about dad. He used the set this for his business. This was when they were younger and before my dad passed away he was a truck driver.

I wanted this layout to have an ‘old heritage’ feel to it so I created the background with some left over Thicker alphabet stickers, gessoed it and sprayed it with Dylusions ink. I then added some crumpled and ink papers, a couple of Tim Holtz tickets and a buckle, a couple of skeleton leaves and a smidgen of metal embellishments. I jouranled on a ticket also and put it behind the photo so my boys know the story behind the photo! The extra criteria was to use triangles somewhere on the page and I used the arrow heads for mine.

I have one more challenge to finish so stay tuned πŸ™‚

Happy Scrapping x
