“Welcome 2015!”

Hi Everyone and welcome to a New Year of challenges here @ TGI Friday!Β Β  I hope you will have fun playing along with me and that you will get some creating done!

There will be just one little change that I hope you won’t mind this year?Β  I feel a challenge a week is a little adventurous as we all lead busy lives so….. I am changing it to one challenge a fortnight to give you a bit more time to get those creative Juices flowing. There will still be a random monthly prize for anyone that enters a layout πŸ™‚

To start us off I thought a colour challenge might be fun!

6a36931c7e51c5e769c58c417915f837I found this one on http://www.pinterest.com/ and I just loved the pretty palette. I would like to see at least 3 of the colours on your page and as it is a New Year I would like you to scrap about something new you have. It could be a gift, a pet, a car, home, baby, anything at all πŸ™‚

001

As you can see I scraped about all my new stamps I bought and earned to create more beautiful cards and build up my SU business. You can see my cards over @ https://www.facebook.com/KreativeKardsByKerri

I used three of the colours and created my background with sponging and stamping. I can’t wait to see what you all create πŸ™‚

I hope you enjoy my first challenge and I am looking forward to seeing your creative layouts uploaded to January 2015 album by Midnight 23/1/15

Happy Scraping x

“TGI Friday Wk 3”

Happy Friday everyone,

I am feeling much better now after a visit with the dentist and it is nice not to be in pain!! I am not too stressed out yet about the “Silly Season” but no doubt it will happen!Β  I know I have a few very busy wks at work.

Welcome to my Wk 3 challenge πŸ˜‰

This one might get you out of your comfort zone, which is what a challenge is all about!

I love scrapping the every day moments that we may miss or we take for granted. I want you to scrap one of those moments. It may be a favourite flower, your fave book, movie, your morning routine, a fave room in your house, your garden, some treasures you have, technology,Β  shopping, a place you love in your town, special jewellery, a hobby, anything that you want to share with us πŸ™‚

You can use one photo or a few to tell your story and if you like you can use one of these sketch’s for inspiration.

44c20d9f00b09b63c0c63632dbe6b89d beckyAs you can see both these sketches have a banner or bunting on them so that is what I would like to see on your page too πŸ™‚

This is my page and you can upload your page here:Β  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=oa.682745485176396&type=1

by Midnight Friday 18/12 to be in the running for this months prize πŸ™‚

WK 3

This page is a bout my fave shop in Geelong called T2. They have every t-pot you can imagine and the yummiest teas!Β  I used all SU products on my layout. I used the first sketch and made one big banner instead of the three, You can use the sketch to suit your photos and embellishments.

I hope you have fun and you get inspired to scrap a memory πŸ™‚

“TGI Friday Wk 2 Challenge”

Hi there,

Friday already and the first week of the ‘silly season’ is done and dusted.Β  For this weeks challenge, I would love you to use this sketch from my lovely friend Heather Waldron’s blog http://www.storm-scraps.blogspot.com.au/

StormScraps November01

and scrap a page about your son/s, daughter/s, grand children, niece/s or nephew/s πŸ™‚ With this lovely sketch you can make it girly or grungy to suit your photos and make sure you do some journaling πŸ™‚Β  You can use the sketch anyway you like as it is a guide for you. I love sketches and use them all the time as I struggle a bit with design.Β  As you can see in my layout I used a 4×4 photo and I mounted it. You could use a 4×6 or a collage of smaller photos if you wanted to tell more of the story. πŸ™‚

TGI Friday wk 2This photo of JJ I took when we had a shopping day together and he was waiting for me to finish in a shop. He had just bought some new art supplies, so to fill in the time he had a sketch.I am happy I got this layout done to tell the story of how he loves art!

I decided on a 12×12 size layout for this one.Β  I stamped my background, added the chevron arrow instead of the border, I already had the title on the photo and I used a photo mat and a few embellies to make the photo size a little bigger. I used all Stampin’ Up! products on my layout except for the paper clip I used as a photo corner on the top tight hand side. I used the sketch as a guide and created my layout in my style and to how I wanted it.

I hope you enjoy this challenge and don’t forget you have till Midnight 12/12 to upload your layout to here in this album.

“TGI Friday Challegne!”

Hello Everyone,

Sorry for being so AWOL here lately, I have been busy setting upΒ  http://kreativekardsbykerri.wordpress.com/and my Face Book page https://www.facebook.com/KreativeKardsByKerri

I haven’t scrapped for over a month as my MOJO has gone a bit AWOL and I got to thinking maybe a challenge once a week would help me and alot of you out there that haveΒ  CREATIVE BLOCK also.

WHO DOESN’T LOVE FRIDAYS. THE END OF THE WORKING WEEK AND THE START OF THE WEEKEND!!!

I have created a page over on Face Book here https://www.facebook.com/groups/675010862616525/Β  so I can put up a challenge each Friday for you to help you get creative πŸ™‚Β Β  I will also put it up here for you, but you will need to add your page over at FB or if you can’t then you can email me @ kerri.smith64@bigpond.com and I can put your layout up for you πŸ™‚

Each week a winner will be chosen from the four challenges, then these four lucky scrapers will go into the draw for a prize from me.

So….. forΒ  Challenge #1 would like to get to know you all.Β  The challenge is to scrap about someone/something you love, use some stamping of course and as telling the story is important, add a bit of journaling to your page. You can stamp a background, or make an embellishment and your journaling can be on a tag, a list or if personal hidden behind the photo πŸ™‚

004On my layout I have used Stampin’ Up! products but of course you don’t have to πŸ™‚Β  I misted the background with some ink refill in a mini mister with some water. I stamped my Flower Shop stamps on Whisper White card stock onto the background and then I stamped some more, punched them out with the Pansy Punch and used them to give my layouts dimension.Β  I added a couple of Elegant Butterflies punched from Subtles Designer Series Paper and my Tag Topper punch to create Journal tag πŸ™‚ I love my new Rotary Stamp which I used on the tag andΒ  I really enjoyed creating this layout of mum and I.

It feels great to be scrapping again and I hope you will have fun and join in πŸ™‚

Happy Scrapping

“A New Lease On Life!”

Morning everyone and Happy Monday!

I have been up and about early for work this morning and not much sleep as my head was going around and around working out a project/adventure I have coming up soon. Stay Tuned!!! πŸ™‚

Over the weekend I have been straightening up my scrap space and I now have most of it situated in the lounge room corner. I have left my huge table in the dining room with some other bits and pieces on it and to use to make a mess with my paint, inks etc.

I have one great bench for my scrap space, which has two cupboards and shelves.Β  As the other one I wanted to match was unavailable, I decided to give an old piece of furniture a new lease on life and re-purpose it in my scrap space.Β  I could have repainted it etc, but I liked its charm the way it was. It had a few scratches on one side but didn’t matter as they can’t be seen.

011-002Β Β  This great shelf unit on the left used to be a bar and I have cleaned it up and converted the shelf space for my scrap booking supplies. It is a fair age, but it is very strong and still in great shape.Β  The drawers I have lined with some scrapbook paper. I have my 6×6 papers, ribbons in the jars, embellishments in baskets and PL on the bottom right. Opposite you can see my Raskog cart all loaded up and ready to go!

003-005This is looking into our lounge room from the kitchen and I have a great position in front of the huge windows and it gets heaps of natural light.Β  I have my other bench in front to work on and not cluttered with tools etc. I just have my magnetic mat, other cutting mat and cordless light. By keeping my bench clear, I am hoping I will want to create more!

006As you can see I have put my trusty book shelf on top of the bar and it gives me extra storage, while using the wall space. I have gone up instead of out πŸ™‚Β  In the tiered basket on the left I have heaps of my flowers out so I will use them, wall storage with goodies in them and my Raskog πŸ™‚ The shelves have my card stock, masks, scrap papers, etc stored on it. My ribbon dress sits above and I can still access it easily!

005As you can see I have plenty of space for all my scrap supplies and by having my Raskog next to the bench with all my tools, stamps etc I think I will be more creative on my next project πŸ˜‰Β  On the door handle on the other side I have one of the small hanging cups with my tape, scissors etc in it instead of on the bench πŸ™‚Β  I think I have created a space for my creativity to bloom and all my bits and bobs are in easy reach and all organised. πŸ™‚

Stay tuned for my next adventure!

Happy ScrappingΒ  x

“Think Outside The Square!”

I don’t think I do very often, but as Home and Scrapped has a challenge this month to use squares on a page, I thought I would give it ago. I started this yesterday and was determined to get it finished before I have to go to work tonite πŸ™‚

I have been making Twinchies for a swap also this month and I think Heather got inspired and created this challenge to tie in with the ‘square theme’

008This layout started as 8.5 x 11 size as I used a square stamp block and some distress ink to create the background. Then as I was adding things I decided it would look good included on a 12×12. This photo of JJ and I having hugz was taken back in 2004 so I thought it was time I told the story πŸ™‚

Not sure how the purple came about, I was just playing and I added a few smaller pieces of pp on the top and a few layered bits, with a punched bird border and bird. I did a bit of faux stitching as well to add interest. The main thing is this photo and story is documented and lots of fun too.

“Me Challenge!”

I am having a fun day of scrapping and making a mess!Β  Great relaxation and fun for me on a Sunday after a big week at work and still a bit sore from my fall.

I love Heather’s challenges @ Home and Scrapped and I have been wanting to do this September one and finally managed to do it today. The challenge was to scrap a pic of you and journal about what is happening on that day.

H & SI decided on this one with my feet up for a change.Β  I really enjoy having my shower and getting into my pj’s when I don’t have to go to work. Chillax’n with my computer and surfing the web or catching up on some missed tv πŸ™‚

I misted the background and put the photo on a big banner, then did a bit of layering and tried out my new feathers die. A bit of bling also which is unusual for me to in the form of the pearl flourish, and the journaling is hidden under photo.

Hope you get some time to scrap this week.

Happy Scrapping x

“STG Mood Board Challenge!”

This month over @ http://scrap-the-girls.blogspot.com.au/ they have a very nice mood board for you to take your inspiration from.

Moodboard STG Finawatermarkedl #2-1Isn’t it gorgeous!Β  For my layout I used the colours, flowers and sequins for inspiration.

STGI misted the background and used a Prima mask and layered a couple of photos with a few Kaiser bits and pieces and some D-Lish flowers. I used some of their enamel dots for the flower centers and a few chippy buttons instead of sequins.Β  I wanted to use the quote for these photos of my sister, niece, mum and I.Β  It says………

STRONG WOMEN –

May we know them,

May we be them,

May we raise them….

This quote says it all about us.Β  My mum has had to be very strong through her life, and she has been a big part of my sister and I coping through out our lives and coming back from some hard times. I know my sister is raising my only niece the same way. We are and will always be strong, independent women!

These photos of us my son took when we went to see dad on Father’s Day only a few weeks ago. I knew this was what I wanted to document for this challenge.

Hope you have a look at STG blog and join in as it is so much fun.
