“Jan Savvy Cybercrop!”

Sarah and her team of Designers at http://www.scrapbooksavvy.com.au/blog/ Β  have another CC on at the moment! I have just been a bit weary the last couple of days to join in 😦   I did manage to have a go at Sarah’s Blind Scrap last nite as it is always so much fun and I got a layout done πŸ™‚

???????????????????????????????I decided to scrap an older photo of my boys and their cousins and as it was Black and white I used the new Garden Party papers from Kaszazz πŸ™‚

I am very happy with my layout and got to have a chat with a few of the girls online also πŸ™‚

“Project Life/365 update!”

I don’t know what is wrong with me?

I know I am very tired with work, doing sleepovers at the moment and not as much energy.Β  As I created this blog for “capturing our daily life” this is what I want to do πŸ™‚

I love taking photos and yes as my sister calls me, I am like a ‘Japanese Tourist’ , Β  always looking at the ‘everyday’ things and seeing what is rightΒ  in ‘front of me’ πŸ™‚ I don’t see them as boring or mundane, I see them as little bits and pieces of us πŸ™‚

I can’t seem to get into this Pocket Page Scrapping (Project Life) 😦 Β  I think I am just too much of a traditional scrapper πŸ™‚ Mmm, I admit it, I think it was new and I jumped on the ‘band wagon’,Β trying to keep up with what everyone was doing and not doing what suits my life and time that I have to put into it .Β  I love to “journal everyday” in my planner so I think this is the way to go for me!

I love scraping about the little things that go on in my life πŸ™‚Β  I have 28 photos for Jan already to document and asΒ  my OLW is ‘THRIFTY’ this year I am going to use my stash and make a journal to document my Β  PHOTO A DAY” πŸ™‚Β  I love-making my own mini albums and I was thinking about 7×9 size, big enough to use 4×6 photos printed straight from my ‘SELPHY’ and some journaling and any other bits I want to add πŸ™‚ Β  I will be able to keep up and scrap any layouts I want to do and a good size that I can take to work and play πŸ™‚

???????????????????????????????This is the chipboard cover that I splashed some Gesso over andΒ  added a bit of old sewing pattern and doily. I used the Kazazz Weird Alpha on a Project Life card with a bit of our twine πŸ™‚

I didn’t want much on the cover and now I can start on adding my January photos and journaling and hopefully keep up πŸ™‚

“Happy 20th Birthday Kaszazz!”

Kaszazz has now been owned and operated in Australia for 20 years. I was lucky enough to join in the Birthday Celebrations in Creswick with Fiona Hocking and her lovely team of Kaszazz consultants πŸ™‚ They were so welcoming and they adopted me for the day as my Team Leader lives in NSW 😦 We had a gorgeous High Tea Luncheon and a wonderful afternoon tea, with all sorts of lovely goodies to eat and drink πŸ™‚

???????????????????????????????I can now share with you my entry in the competition and I came equal second with my canvas πŸ™‚

Our Kaszazz kit of new products to play with was amazing, and I loved it all. πŸ™‚ I created the Make and Take cards, using our lovely washi tape and making a rosette and feathers, then instead of doing the 2 hr workshop I had a play with our new plain washi tape, created my own colours with our Alcohol Markers and made a few roses πŸ™‚

025This is some of the awesome kit that as a Kaszazz Consultant I got to play with! I love all the new pattern papers, stamps and emboss folders but I think my fave is the plain washi tape.

020

I would be quite happy to show you how to make these if you are interested in having a workshop with a few friends πŸ™‚

I have an order a mile long and if you would like to see the new products you can view them hereΒ  http://www.kaszazz.com/3d/jan14/Β  also if you would prefer to have a flyer or a catalogue to go through I have some and would be happy to send you one πŸ™‚

There are so many talented and inspiring ladies out there and I am so glad I had a chance to meet a few of them πŸ™‚

“Kaszazz Training Day!”

I am really enjoying being back with Kaszazz, which is an Australian owned and operated scrap booking supplies company πŸ™‚Β  I am getting excited as this weekend I am attending my first Kaszazz Team Training day in Creswick with the lovely Fiona Hocking and her team of lovely consultants πŸ™‚ My lovely up-line is Vicki Gow and she lives in another state 😦

I will get to see and play with all the new products Kaszazz will soon be releasing. Fiona is working hard this week to have lots of projects for us to play with πŸ™‚

Kaszazz also runs a competition on the day and I have created a mixed media project for my entry πŸ™‚ The criteria was to use at least one of the new products released this month! I used the small Annie stamps and I have gone a little Steam Punk, sort of πŸ™‚

???????????????????????????????I spent most of Monday afternoon making flowers, stamping and cutting out the images for it! I created the background with Gesso, stamping, a stencil and Metallic Distress Stains πŸ™‚

It has been very hot here this week in Victoria and it has been wonderful having the air con going while I worked on my project πŸ™‚

I can share with you later on the weekend and will also have some other projects that I create on the day to share also πŸ™‚

If you would like any information about our lovely stamps and products just let me know! I am happy to send you a catalogue, with lots of inspiration in them and you can see it online here at

” Memory File Folder Mini!”

I have completed about 95% of our Holiday File Folder. I only have to add the memorabilia etc to it πŸ™‚ I wasn’t allowed to take pictures of the Fairy Penguins, so I have postcards etc to add to the album πŸ™‚ I have an extra couple of pages added!

???????????????????????????????Β Β Β Β Β Β Β  I just cut the folders down to 10″ which gave me a good size album!

???????????????????????????????

???????????????????????????????I started with the photos of Cody competing in the Spartan Race, as that was why we went to Phillip Island.Β  I used pattern papers from my stash, stamps of course and also the Project Life Cards and Veneers from a Secret Santa present I received πŸ™‚

???????????????????????????????Β Β  ???????????????????????????????Β  We had time to do some sight-seeing and the weather was fantastic!

???????????????????????????????

???????????????????????????????On the way home we stopped for a break at the Maru Wild life park! It was great fun seeing the animals and feeding them πŸ™‚ Who doesn’t love Koala’s and Kangaroos πŸ™‚ There were Dingos, Emus, reptiles, birds and a really cute Donkey and Wombats πŸ™‚

I am happy to finally have these photos of our fun break scrapped and eventually Cody will be able to have the album to remember that he completed the race, and we had such a fun time together πŸ™‚

“My Scrapbook Nook!”

nook Β (nk)

n.

1. A small corner, alcove, or recess, especially one in a large room.
2. A hidden or secluded spot.
So I think I now have a scrap booking nook, which I am sure I will spend lots of creative hours in! I reshuffled everything today and went back into the lounge. I know….. It has two major benefits, the large open window for great light and now our air con unit which will be great when we eventually get some warm weather, when I want to scrap πŸ™‚ The weather is weird for Summer in Victoria!
???????????????????????????????This is the corner I have made my own and this is looking down from the kitchen end πŸ™‚ I have my lamp set up, and next to that is my Canon Selphy which I use heaps.
???????????????????????????????I have put my tall boy in this corner to have easy access to all my bits and pieces stored in the drawers and I have my jars of foam stamps, and embellies on the top with some of my pages etc on the walls πŸ™‚ My smaller white Col Craft paper unit is just on the left. Under that is a wire basket of washi, my jar of buttons and two other shelves with bits and bobs πŸ™‚
006Of course, I have my awesome Col Craft KA unit on my desk with all my inks, Dylusions, Distress stains, punches, pens, etc, etc that I use a lot πŸ™‚
???????????????????????????????On the direct opposite side I have my other table with my shelf unit on the top!Β  This has my stamp binders, Big Shot etc on it with my other Col Craft paper unit on the floor πŸ™‚ My big book shelf has my albums, books, etc on it πŸ™‚
Well, I am hoping this is where I will be staying (cough! cough!)
Now I feel like I can find things when I need them and will be more productive and create heaps this yearΒ  πŸ™‚

“Scrap The Boys – Jan Challenge!”

Hi Everyone,

Feeling a bit blah today as our cat Sam has gone missing! He has had a bit of a hard life in his 9 1/2 years, with a head injury about 5 years ago, and we nearly lost him.Β  He was then taken from us two years ago and found by our local Ranger six months later! I don’t think he has been well the last few weeks, so not sure what has happened! 😦 😦

I thought I would try to take my mind off things and have a go at the January Challenge over at http://www.scraptheboys.blogspot.com.au/

I haven’t done a challenge over there for a while and I am always scrapping my boys πŸ™‚ The challenge is to scrap about something NEW, so when Sandra put the link up on FB I knew what I wanted to scrap about πŸ™‚

???????????????????????????????

004Cody who is my oldest, came of his motorbike restrictions just before Xmas and he was hanging out to buy his NEW Harley Dyna, Supa-glide πŸ™‚ Yep, just the same as Jax rides in Sons Of Anarchy except it’s silver πŸ™‚

He loves it and I think he will have this bike forever πŸ™‚

I wanted to make this a grungy page and I created the background with gesso swiped over the card stock, then added some circle impressions with a toilet roll holder. I then let it dry and then misted it with chocolate and blue Dylsuions inks. I then added some stamping and layering under photo of some cardboard, mesh and netting. The arrow on the side is done with a chevron template and texture paste. I have had fun creating this one and am very happy with the result!

Hop on over and have a go at their challenge, I think it will be a monthly one for me this year πŸ™‚

“First Smash For 2014!”

Today I decided to have my annual clean out of the scrap booking magazines I have bought during 2013, mind you there is nowhere near as many as the year before! I find there are lots of ads in them now and I usually only by Australian Scrapbook Ideas bi-monthly πŸ™‚

scrapThey are too good to just throw into the recycle so, I go through them all and decide on the articles, ideas and layout designs I want to add toΒ  my inspiration books. These are 3 A4 binder books that I separate into single layouts, double Layouts, tips and techniques…. I refer back to my books when I get ‘scrapers block’ which is often sometimes πŸ™‚

Browsing through them there are so many adverts for products, that I thought why not do a page in my Smash Book about my love of Scarp products which by the way is bad…….and I am sure I am not the only one that is addicted πŸ™‚

???????????????????????????????I really enjoyed doing this double page of my love of scrappy things πŸ™‚ I did a Top 10 list of the products I love to use heaps, added some washi embellishments, a few tabs and words.Β  I am very happy with the collage and if you click on the photo you will get a better look at it πŸ™‚

“2014 Memory Jar!”

Today I started a memory jar!

Each day I/we are going to write something good about our day; could be an event, a thought, anything. Then on NY eve this year I am going to empty the jar and read about our memories of the year. I will then scrapbook about it or put in to my Project Life Album!

I am hoping this will help me with my journaling for my scrap booking and also I will have a record of some things that I may have forgotten about to document πŸ™‚

memory jarI found a jar in the cupboard and just prettied up a manilla tag and tied it on with some twine πŸ™‚ I might have to find a bigger jar, will see how I go!

Hope maybe you might have a go and do a jar of memories too πŸ™‚

“Welcome 2014!”

Happy New Year!Β  Well, it’s here whether we want it or not πŸ™‚

2013 was a pretty good year for us, I got my two Cert III certificates completed, got a job, started my Cert IV, my son moved out 😦 and mum and dad are going pretty good, and none of us have been sick, so a lot to be grateful for πŸ™‚ Didn’t get as much scraping done as I would have liked, but hope that will change this year!

A good start to 2014, with my son coming around for dinner tonight and we are soon off to the movies to see Part II of The Hobbit πŸ™‚ It will b fun and I ‘must not talk’ lol! Yep, I get into trouble lol!

No NY resolutions here again this Yr, just going to follow my OLW and see what the year brings! Of course I want to get more scraping done and as I have only one unit left of my Cert IV Disability left to do in Feb when school goes back, that is the plan πŸ™‚Β  I am enjoying my job and keeping me busy. I have a few days off till Sunday so making the most of it πŸ™‚

JJ is enjoying the school holidays and not thinking about going into Yr 11 and Cody is very busy with work and riding that new Harley around lol!! It is Summer here in Australia, but at the moment it is only 16 degrees here in Victoria and on the cool side. It will get warm though πŸ™‚ We aren’t doing much over the Summer break, just chillaxing and maybe a few day trips πŸ™‚ Our annual shopping day in Geelong with my sister and family on the 11th and Kaszazz Training day coming up too πŸ™‚

I hope you all have a great 2014 and stay tuned for some scrappy bits and pieces from me! Starting with some ATC’s that I have nearly finished for a swap πŸ™‚ I want to keep up with my Project Life and puddle with my art journaling πŸ™‚
